If you are a patient computer nerd go for it. Unless you have very good computer competence and patience it may be a better option to buy a USB already configured with the FSC code. Once I had the secret configuration, which isn’t explained in the provided documentation, the update to my car’s maps was easy. In addition to this I also had to spend much time through trial and error moving files out of folders, created during the unzip process, into the USB root directory before I finally got it to work. Only after spending several days unsuccessfully trying to get this to work, and writing to the seller, did I find out that you must use a PC that a Mac won’t work. I made the mistake of starting this process using a Mac computer. One clearly written document describing the process from start to finish would have been of great help. The problem is that none of the documents are well written or comprehensive. There are three instruction documents in which links to download are provided along with the links for the maps. This was largely due to the lack of clear and complete instructions. Using this product to update the maps in my 2015 BMW was not straight forward or without frustration.
